When the Messiah came, He came as the builder of a new temple. The old one would be destroyed. He said He would build a new one with His own body by His resurrection from the dead. He is now gathering stones. Sinners! Outcasts! Lonely! Rich! Poor! Hopeless! Ragamuffins! Even me! Even you! These are the living stones in which He dwells. He is our temple, and we are His. The Lord is in His holy temple! Worship!
“Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (I Cor 3:16) “And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God, you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 2:4-5 (NASB)
