I love the fragrance of flowers in full bloom; some of those sweet smells you have to come near to experience, others saturate the deep woods.   Jesus’ body was anointed by a woman who loved sweet fragrances and wanted to pour some on Him (Mark 14:3–9); the fragrance lingered on his body for some time.  It would later fill the upper room and maybe even was noticeable through his trial.  When Jesus made the world, He put fragrance into it.  So every time you catch the waft of some enchanting bloom say, “Thank you, Jesus.  I smell You today. You are precious and sweet. You are here where I am in this moment.”  Smell and see, the Lord is sweet and delightful.

“Leave her alone,” said Jesus. “Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me. She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial. I tell you the truth, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.” Mark 14:6–9 (NIV84)
