“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it” (John 1:4-9 NLT). Jesus is the true Light. The darkness cannot put it out. The dark world cannot put it out; the dark heart cannot put it out. The Light has come to triumph over darkness. It has. It does. It will. Stop giving the darkness credit; cease letting it depress you. The One who said, “Let there be light” is Himself the Light. The One who created suns, stars, moons and comets is the source of our illumination. In the culmination of all things, the Light wins.
“And there will be no more night; they need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever” Revelation 22:5 (NRSV)
