God’s love is tenacious.  It is the Oh-love-that-will-not-let-me-go kind of love.  It does not let me go when I walk away from it.  It loves when it is not given back.  It loves when it is hurt.  Our love is to be God’s kind of love; our love is meant to be as tenacious as His.  Nothing can separate us from God’s love.  What separates people from your love?  Who is not allowed to receive our love is a barometer on our spiritual formation and growth.  Father, may my rain and sunshine fall on the just and unjust in the same way yours does for me.  Amen!

“We love because he first loved us.  Those who say, “I love God,” and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen.  The commandment we have from him is this: those who love God must love their brothers and sisters also.” (1 John 4:19-21 NRSV)
