Our Father (D)

“Our Father who is in Heaven, Hallowed be your name” (Matthew 6:9). I must approach my prayers with reverence and awe for The Holy-Father-God.  The foremost thought in my mind must not be to rush past this part of the prayer as a “common courtesy” for a King.  It must be more than “good prayer manners” to praise before I petition and to worship before I ask.  The true idea is this: If I never get anything from Him may He get something from me, and that is reverent worship in awe before His majestic Holiness.  May I praise, adore, and love Him as my Holy Father and not for the things I can get from Him.
