Watch out for the counsel of Satan.  He counseled Eve in the garden.  He counseled Jesus in the wilderness.  He comes to you in both your garden and wilderness.  His voice raises questions about what God has clearly said.  He offers you another way.  He appears to bring new light.  He hides His dark motives from us.  The best way to avoid Satan’s traps is to know the Word of God and the voice of the Spirit with unswerving readiness to obey.

“For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.” 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 (NASB)
