Tears are a gift.  Tears can express joy and happiness.  They can express sadness and pain.  Sometimes we are afraid to cry, for fear we cannot stop.  Tears can bring us to a place of release.  They may be with us when on the verge of despair.  They are a part of life in this world as we know it.  Someday all sorrow-filled tears will be dried, because the reasons for them (death, sickness and pain, etc.), will be gone in the new creation.  The God-man wept at the tomb of His friend (John 11:35).  He weeps at the wreck, the diagnosis, the sick bed, and at the tomb of our friends.  Jesus wept, so you need not doubt that tears are a part of Christlikeness.
