There are no shortcuts when traveling with Jesus, the Way. His is the narrow road. The broad way may seem so much more appealing. Our old enemy will seek to deceive us by suggesting that the pleasant fork to the right is the one we should take; after all, he says, “Jesus never meant for life to be so restrictive.” The easy way may turn out to be a disaster. We still need to hear Jesus warning about right roads and wrong roads.
“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it” Matt 7:13-14.
