The narrative that Satan has about you is different from God’s narrative about you.  Satan wants you to think that you have little or no value; he wants you to think that God does not really love you, though you are made in the divine likeness.  He wants you to doubt your relationship with God as a member of God’s family.  He wants you to think that God does not care about you because you are suffering.  He wants you to think that being different disqualifies you when God has uniquely gifted you.  He wants you to think that the commandments of Jesus are impossible and binding rather than freeing you for really living.

“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.  Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world” 1 Peter 5:8-9 (ESV).
