Humans make poor gods. We build kingdoms to rival the Kingdom of Heaven. In the end our kingdoms fall. We leave hurt people in our wake. The Kingdom of God heals; the kingdoms of men produce sickness. Our kingdoms produce injustice. The Kingdom of God produces real justice. Our kingdoms are driven by power and greed. His Kingdom is driven by sacrifice and humility. The core of sin is that we want to be our own god. The core of holiness is that we abandoned all gods, including ourselves, to bow before one Priceless Pearl.
