Do you remember the person you used to be before you came to Christ? Do you see the new person you are becoming since you came to Christ?  Have you noticed that the old does not like the new?  Do you see how God is changing all those old patterns of living into new ways of thriving?  Have you put off the old self and put on the new?  Is your change of “clothing” yet complete?  “The new self, created after the likeness of God”; that would be Christlikeness.  The old shape is being reshaped; the old you is dying to become the new you.  Caterpillars can become butterflies.  Ashes can be traded for beauty.  Flowers can bloom where weeds once thrived.  Fruit can arise out of old decay.  It’s a God-thing to be transformed by His Holy Spirit.  Don’t become frustrated; delight in the process.

“But that is not the way you learned Christ!—assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians 4:20–24 (ESV)
