Moses had to face the tyrant of his own self before he could face the tyrant Pharaoh.  He wanted to deliver his people his way; so, he killed a man.  God had another way to deliver them but Moses was not yet ready.  Before we can complete our mission in life we have to give up our way in favor of God’s better way.  Our great problem is our own heart.  We want to think the problem is our opponent. We spend lots of time railing about the Pharaohs of the world and not enough time looking at the intent of our own hearts and the destructive effects of our own actions.

“Many years later, when Moses had grown up, he went out to visit his own people, the Hebrews, and he saw how hard they were forced to work. During his visit, he saw an Egyptian beating one of his fellow Hebrews. After looking in all directions to make sure no one was watching, Moses killed the Egyptian and hid the body in the sand.” Exodus 2:11–12 (NLT)
