“Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you” Psalm 55:22b (NASB). This is a wonderful promise. Most of us find that it is not always easy to do. Sometimes we have short-term burdens. Sometimes we have to deal with life-long burdens; these are the kind that we end our day with and when we awaken in the morning they are still there. This “casting our burden on the Lord” is not a one time thing, but it is daily. The promise in the last half of the verse is that “He will sustain you.” It is daily that we find, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’” (2 Corinthians 12:9a NKJV). So remember, the life-long burdens are meant to be shared with the Lord; when we do, we discover that we are buoyed up each day with daily grace that gives us strength to face what we have to face.
