Isaiah saw a road by which the exiles would return home.  He called it a Holy Way.  It was even understood in Jesus’ day that the nation had not yet fully returned from exile.  When Jesus said, “I am the way”, we miss its connection to return from exile.  Christ is our Holy Way out of exile.  He is the Way back to the fullness of the Father’s promises.  He is the Way for the restoration of all things.  My dear friends, He is the Way forward for you to the restoration of wholeness that your exile has stolen from you.

“A highway shall be there, and it shall be called the Holy Way; the unclean shall not travel on it, but it shall be for God’s people; no traveler, not even fools, shall go astray.” Isaiah 35:8 (NRSV)
