Jesus took the role of a priest when He declared, “Your sins are forgiven” (Mark 2:5).  Though Messiah, born of David’s line, did not descend from the tribe of Levi, yet He became our great High Priest after the “order of Melchizedek.” (Hebrews 6:18-20). He makes intercession for us (Romans 8:34); He is for us and not against us.  Nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:31-39). He intercedes for us, not so that we can remain in our sins, but so that He can free us indeed (John 8:36).  Troubled? Perplexed? Weary? Heavy Laden?  Your Priest understands and is ready to hear and to help.

“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”Hebrews 4:14-16 (NASB)
