God’s Good News is that the Kingdom of God has arrived. “Later on, after John was arrested, Jesus went into Galilee, where he preached God’s Good News. ‘The time promised by God has come at last!’ he announced. ‘The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!’” Mark 1:14-15 (NLT).  Jesus is the King of that Kingdom; “the government rest on His shoulders” (Isaiah 9:6).  The Prince of Peace refused to take up arms to establish His rule; that is the way of the world, (John 18:36), then and now.  This is why His government has never been and can never be synonymous with any nation.  His is the upside down kingdom.  The greatest are the least; the last are first.  He redefined greatness. It is not about seizing power; it is about meekness, kindness, compassion, gentleness, humble service, justice, righteousness, and counting others more important than yourself, definitely not the picture of any of the nations of this world. His kingdom does not exist for the elite at the top but for those at the bottom who have been trampled on by them. Are we yet a true citizen of it?  Is He really our kind of King?

“There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.” Isaiah 9:7 (NASB)
