The hymn writer Asaph was confused about life until he found his answer in the sanctuary of worship (Psalm 73: 16-17).  Those who miss sanctuary worship also miss the vision of the big picture.  We must not live life with an incomplete picture of reality.  We must be freed from our private tunnel vision.  We must not forsake the assembly of God’s people.  The peril of doing so is costly to our perspective.  Father, forgive us for neglecting the covenant community.

“When my heart was embittered And I was pierced within, Then I was senseless and ignorant; I was like a beast before You.  Nevertheless I am continually with You; You have taken hold of my right hand.  With Your counsel You will guide me, And afterward receive me to glory.  Whom have I in heaven but You? And besides You, I desire nothing on earth.  My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:21-26 (NASB)
