Worship does not begin when the congregants enter the sanctuary.  Worship is going on in Heaven at all times.  Isaiah looked into the heavenly realm, saw and heard it.  ”Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory” Isaiah 6:3 (NASB).  John also saw and heard it (Revelation 4:8).  Holy, Holy, Holy is the true tuning fork of worship.  We must attune our worship to it.  It will banish trivial and shallow worship.  It will produce a holy awe that can make us tremble.  It struck conviction and repentance in the heart of Isaiah.  A true vision of our holy God will do the same for us.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!

Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee;

holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty,

God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee,

casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;

cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee,

who wert and art and evermore shalt be. – John Bacchus Dykes
