We have heard it said, “She can’t stand me.” or “He does not like me.”  We can never say that about our God.  Oh yes, we often project our self-rejection onto God and think that He does not love us or even that He just does not even like us.  But even in our fallenness, with all of our problems, our Father walks among us as His people and does not abhor nor despise us.  The opposite of abhor is to love.  Christ, the sinless one, walked among, dined with sinners and loved them.  Oh, what a wonder, that Christ can walk with me, knowing all about me and not abhor me.  He loves me!  He loves to be with me!  The greatest wonder of the universe is that God loves us with an irrepressible persistent love!  Hallelujah!

I will make my dwelling among you, and my soul shall not abhor you. And I will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be my people” (Leviticus 26:11–12 ESV).
