The idea of giving your life back to God that we have in Romans 6 is taken up again in Romans 12:1-2.  Jesus gave His life to us without reservations.  That gift should inspire us to give our life to Him with nothing held back.  We are called on to become a living sacrifice; this is our worship.  We are to live that sacrifice out in a world that wants us to go another way.  The way the world wants us to think and act is so opposite to that which Christ is calling us.  He is not calling us to be merely different from the world; he is calling us to a life of transformation.  This life pleases God and is what we want deep down in our hearts.  Don’t stop short!

“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:1–2 (NLT)
