Our spiritual journey has wonderful times of conscious presence with our Lord.  Sometimes we feel very conscious of His apparent absence.  “My God why have You forsaken me”?  This test of feeling that we are alone may go on for a long time.  We walk this way by faith and not by sight.  We do not serve Him for the good feelings.  To try to conjure up the feeling means we worship the feeling. The Christian journey is not all bouncing exuberance.  It is a settled trust in our Father when we do not sense Him near.

“For the LORD will not abandon His people, Nor will He forsake His inheritance.” Psalm 94:14 (NASB)
