Every where we look, society is driven by greed, grabbing and obtaining at the expense of inequity and outright oppression.  In a sinful world there must be laws that prevent the greedy from oppressing the poor, the widow and the orphan.  OT Scripture says that this was the primary duty of the king and his government.  The Messiah King fulfills that justice.  His Kingdom always stands against systemic oppression.  We live, “Thy Kingdom come, they will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.”  We are commanded not to even have fellowship with the greedy.  His Kingdom citizens are driven by giving and not by greed.

“But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.” 1 Corinthians 5:11 (NIV)
