Missing Corporate Worship

“My heart is breaking as I remember how it used to be: I walked among the crowds of worshipers, leading a great procession to the house of God, singing for joy and giving thanks amid the sound of a great celebration!  Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!” Psalm 42:4-6a (NLT)

Corporate worship is so very important for the Christian community.  Most of us have had times when it was impossible to get to a sanctuary of worship.  Missing a day of worship confuses the rhythm of our week.  These times do not mean that we have to put our faith on hold; we learn to worship privately and with our families.  Neither do we put our hope on hold; we do look forward to praising the Lord with our brothers and sisters of faith.  Read these verses one more time.
