“But their minds were hardened; for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains unlifted, because it is removed in Christ” (2 Corinthians 3:14 NASB).  The collected books of the old covenant, with their odd laws and codes, rituals, sacrifices, and wars, can be very confusing without Christ.  Reading them is like reading through a sight-restricting veil; it puts a cloud over the mind and not just the eyes.  Messiah takes the veil off.  He is the ultimate message to whom the Scriptures point (John 5:39-40); .  Christ is the lens through which we must read the OT if we would ever make sense of it.  He is the full and final word (Hebrews 1:1-3).  He is the Word. (John 1:1-18.)  In Him alone do we know what the invisible God is like, because He became the visible God in our very human flesh.  This will forever change how Christians read the Bible.  The old vision of God has been replaced with the Christlike God.
