Jesus connected the worship of God at the altar to being reconciled with our brother and sister.  He said in essence, “be reconciled to your brother; then come and worship.”  Not everyone will reconcile with us, but it says something about our character if we truly tried.  Complaints for years over what a brother or sister has done, and never once a direct conversation to correct it, is very contrary to what our Lord taught us.  He is your brother.  She is your sister.  They are family.  Do it for your Father.

“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar.  First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.” Matthew 5:23-24 (NIV)
