We are admonished to “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord”.  Paul wrote to Timothy, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity” (2 Timothy 2:19b NKJV).  It is not enough to avoid evil, we are to walk with a motive to please Him.  We are to intentionally follow His teaching; we are to actively seek to walk in the steps of our Shepherd.  We are to live a life of good works, as modeled after His good works.  May our lives be a commendation to His life; may our lives point unwaveringly to Jesus.

And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; (Colossians 1:9–10 ESV).
