Paul outlined what good Christian teaching is all about when He said to Timothy, “But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.”  This was Paul’s vision for the outcome of Christian teaching; what a true disciple is supposed to look like. The beginning of a good conscience is “love from a pure heart”.  Then we must say, from the text, that a good conscience is rooted in sincere faith.  This is a person who really does trust in the Lord full-heartedly; their faith is genuine and earnest and without pretense.  There is nothing like a good conscience in our walk with the Lord.  We must keep it real.

“But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion, wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.” (1 Timothy 1:5–7 NASB).
