Horses need a bit in their mouth to help them do their job.  Sometimes, when fully trained, they can respond to their owner without that tug on the corners of their mouth.  If we love our Master, we delight to do His will.  To bite the bit is to reject the will of the Master.  He will counsel you with His eye; look into it, watch His face, and it will guide you.  Lord, may I see in Your face what I need to do; direct me with Your kind eyes, Your telling look.  Amen!

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding, which must be curbed with bit and bridle, or it will not stay near you. (Psalm 32:8-9 ESV)”
