We are to “present our bodies as a living sacrifice,” which is our “spiritual service of worship”. (Romans 12:1-2) Yes, our bodies, representing our total being are to be given to Him. This is the same language as Romans 6. Our whole being “presented” (NASB), “offered” (NIV), “yielded” (KJV) to God. Nothing held back! Without reservation–consecration! Full dedication! Believer, climb in the offering plate, you are the offering. Stay there. It is your real worship.
Paul’s message on presenting in Romans: “Do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God….I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, resulting in further lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification….But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life…Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 6:13, 19, 22; 12:1-2 (NASB)
