The greatest story ever told is that “God loves you”. This story was lived out when God entered into our flesh to pursue us and rescue us. To know I am loved is to feel the warmth of divine acceptance. It banishes my inferiority and insecurity with divine embrace. It welcomes me in creation. It invites me to union with the Holy One. It keeps me from despair. It frees me to love others, knowing I am fully loved. To freely give love is to be possessed by it.
“This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:12-13 (NASB)
