Worship is what brings our fractured self and our fractured lives to a place of wholeness.  It is healing to our person.  Worship is what unites our hearts around God.  Corporate worship reinforces our values, which are always in danger of being diminished through cultural pressures.  As we hear the Christian story read and proclaimed, it places our own story in that larger story.  It keeps our story from going astray.  Giving worth-ship, which is what worship means, is to affirm our own worth.  Opening ourselves to His goodness in worship is transformative.

“Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see— how good GOD is. Blessed are you who run to him.  Worship GOD if you want the best; worship opens doors to all his goodness.” Psalm 34:8-9 (MSG)
