Someone has said, “God understood is God denied”. If we think we understand God, then what we understand is not God. Our finite mind cannot wrap around His Infinite Mind. He is not a higher angel or even a higher man. He is in a category all by Himself. Understand what you can, as revealed in His Son Jesus. That is the most complete source of knowledge we have of Him. Worship with understanding. Worship beyond understanding. Enter His mystery. To be caught up in awe is worship at its highest.
Father, forgive us for our restrictive mental images of You. We confess that our understanding is partial. We thank You for the great minds of Christian thinkers that have helped us see You a little better. Oh, awesome God, we confess that we want to know You more fully by being more and more present with You. Amen!
