Evangelicalism fear of works’ righteousness has enabled us to throw the baby out with the bath water. Of course we do not believe that we can earn our salvation by the works we do, but what we overlook is that to live righteously involves works. Righteousness is the process of living out what is just and right. It is the way we live our life in this world. It is doing good deeds for the bodies and souls of human kind in all the places and ways we have opportunity.
“He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.” Titus 2:14 (NLT)
