Never forget that the first ones to announce the resurrection were women. This was in a time when women were not considered reliable witnesses in court. Yet Jesus flips human culture on its head and reveals Himself first to women. They go out as the first evangels to proclaim the resurrection of the Son of God. The men finally had to acknowledge that these God appointed women were declaring the truth and had been given the right to do so.
“Moreover, some women of our company amazed us. They were at the tomb early in the morning, and when they did not find his body, they came back saying that they had even seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive. Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but him they did not see.” Luke 24:22-24 (ESV)
