Jesus has directed us to “be as wise as serpents and as harmless as doves” Matthew 10:16.  We can use our opinions to set people straight and do great harm.  Wisdom requires serious thought about our actions and reactions.  We can be right and wrong at the same time.  That ends up being a negative.  That is not where wisdom is displayed.  Speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15) is wisdom.  Love drives us to do good and not harm, to heal and not hurt.

Lord, forgive us for the times we have missed it in our relationships with others.  As we live together in Your body, teach us to act in wisdom, directed by love.  Teach us how to build each other up, in honor preferring one another.  Amen!
