We can open our empty earthen vessels in brokenness and humility for His filling. It is hard for the Spirit to fill us when we are filled with so much longing for other things. We must want Him more than we want anyone or anything. We then can be shaped by the Spirit and become clay in the hands of the Potter. Wait before Him until you want Him more than His gifts, until you want Him more than any feeling that might stir your soul.
Father, come and enable us by Your grace to empty ourselves of all that hinders Your work in us. Forgive us for our distractions and preoccupations that eclipse You. We want You. We want nothing to come between us and You. We desire that you have all of us. Amen!
