It is dangerous to speak for God when He has not spoken. To offer prophetic words that do not come to pass have shattered the faith of many. We have all observed the person that is too quick with “a word from the Lord.” God keeps his own words but is not bound to honor the words others put in His mouth. God will judge all who speak for Him when He has not spoken. In worshipful humility, treasure the precious word of God as the holy thing it is.
“I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.” Jeremiah 23:21 (KJV)
