We have all heard persons boast of all the wonderful things they gave up to follow Jesus. This may reveal that they have not yet given it up. When I think of Christ’s great sacrifice, my sacrifices pale into insignificance. Besides that, He gave me “Beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness” Isaiah 61:3. He broke my chains. He lifted my burden. He forgave my great iniquities. He washed me. Put your hand to the plow and don’t look back. He is the Pearl of Great Price and the unparalleled Treasure.
