In our early Christian immaturity we thought that the will of God meant to be in the exact place God wanted us to be as well as being there with the right mate.  We finally learned that it is much bigger than that.  The will of God is more about who we are than where we are.  The will of God is that we love and forgive, show mercy and kindness, be a peacemaker and a servant.  We are to pursue the divine likeness as the goal of our relationship with Him.  The will of God is about holiness as Christlikeness.

“The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.” 1 John 2:17 (NASB)
