“What more was there to do for my vineyard, that I have not done in it? When I looked for it to yield grapes, why did it yield wild grapes? (Isaiah 5:4 ESV). God’s vineyard, Israel, had backslidden; instead of producing sweet grapes of righteousness and justice they were producing wild grapes of injustice and unrighteousness (See all of Isaiah 5). God raises the question, “What more could I have done?” Ask yourself that question about where you are in your walk. Has not God supplied you with all you need? Could He have been more merciful? Could He have given more love? Has His grace been in short supply? God is wanting sweet grapes; let Him prune you. Let Him cleanse and refine you. He has offered His whole self to you to make it possible; He could not have done more.
