What if all of us wore the same outfit to church and then wore it everyday throughout the week? What outfit am I talking about? “Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience” If all of us wore that outfit, what kind of church would we have? What kind of world would we have? What kind of work place? When you wear these clothes, it is easier to bear with one another and to forgive each other. Wearing those clothes creates a healing community. Wash them with love at the end of the day and put them back on tomorrow. Love holds this simple, but perfect wardrobe together. One more thing: When wearing this outfit let your thinking and actions be ruled by peace making.
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:12-15 (NIV)
