The two sad and brokenhearted disciples of Emmaus were walking the road of despair. The resurrected One joined them on this walk. How many times do we walk in sadness forgetting that we are walking with Resurrection? To remember that He is with us is to have the perspective of our saddest day changed. Remind yourself today that He is with you on your sad roads, your lonely roads, and your painful roads. You walk no road by yourself anymore.
“But they urged Him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is getting toward evening, and the day is now nearly over.” So He went in to stay with them. When He had reclined at the table with them, He took the bread and blessed it, and breaking it, He began giving it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished from their sight.” Luke 24:29-31 (NASB)
