Life has been moving toward virtual reality ever since the invention of motion pictures. Handheld devices have allowed us to escape further into an unreal world. Now new devices are moving us to a dangerous new level of virtual reality. The further we get from face to face relationships, and the further we get from experiencing the earth and creation, the further we drift into a place where other gods rule, other worldviews prevail and we plunge into a new insensitive barbarianism. The cure? Open your eyes to the real world and experience it. Open your heart to the One who created it and sustains it and you. For early disciples, Christ and creation were inseparable. “For in him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28). Christ is our reality! Discover Him! Live like it.
“For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together” Colossians 1:16-17 (NASB).
