We give names to storms so we can recall which ones to which we are referring in conversation. Sometimes great storms that hit us are not named because they do not fit this or that category. Some of the personal storms that overwhelm us are named: fire, flood, robbery, death of loved one, divorce, loss of job, etc. Some trials and tests do not lend themselves to a name, but they can be just as devastating. Just remember, if your storm does, or does not, have a name, the Lord remembers your name. He knows where you are and will not abandon you in your hour of testing.
“So that no one would be unsettled by these trials. You know quite well that we were destined for them.” 1 Thessalonians 3:3 (NIV)
