Jesus taught us to work out our differences face to face (Matt 18:15). When we have grievances with a sister or brother, we are to go to them and not a third party. It is too easy to talk to others to make our one-sided case. This has a divisive effect. We are not to talk about each other but talk to each other. We are members of a common family who relate to each other as brothers and sisters. Our spiritual growth has lots to do with how we relate to others.
“All of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind” 1 Peter 3:8 (NRSV).
