When I look back on my life I am saddened by what I should have heard, and could have heard, if my ways of thinking had not been so entrenched. When new truth comes to us it is important to be open, pause and listen to this new truth, or else all we will hear is our old ways of seeing, distorting what is needing and begging to be heard. We hear what we want to hear and see what we want to see. That is scary when it comes to the truth that comes from our speaking Lord.
“Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.” Then he added, “Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given—and you will receive even more.” Mark 4:23-24 (NLT)
