“And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ (Matthew 25:8 ESV.  There are some things that you cannot borrow. You cannot borrow character from another.  You can ride the coattails of other people, but in the end you develop your character and build your reputation; you cannot borrow it.  You cannot borrow spiritual preparation; this is why the Father invites all of us to pray.  You cannot live on the faith of other people; spiritual power is the consequence of the time you spend with God.  You can follow the footsteps of another, but remember, you leave your own footprints.
