It is impossible for another person to meet all of our needs. We have in ourselves longings that can only be realized by a relationship with our Heavenly Father. Trying to make another person fit in that spot is futile and frustrating. Work on the God-relationship and all others will find their proper place. He longs for you more than you long for Him. Walk with Him. Talk with Him. Enjoy quiet with Him. Thrive on just being together. This is the satisfying relationship for which we long.
Father, forgive me for placing a burden on other people that only You can bear. Help me, from this day forward, to deepen my relationship with You and find You completely fulfilling to these deep longings of mine. Show me the things that make for knowing You more fully. Amen!
