Our Saving Messiah (Jesus Christ) brings us two great freedoms. The first is a freedom FROM the slavery of sin (Passover out of Egypt). The second is a freedom FOR God. (“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart…”). These freedoms come from the Holy Spirit and are both the fruit and evidence of His inward and outer workings in our lives. We are never totally free FROM a thing until we are free FOR something greater.
“But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.” Romans 6:22 (NASB)
