1) Treat others as you would like to be treated. 2) Treat others as you would like for God to treat you. Dear Lord, that second one makes me really uncomfortable. I know it’s true, but I want there to be lots of exceptions. I get what you said about forgiving trespasses in the prayer you taught us. But sometimes we get sideways with each other with unkindness, brashness and words that are too sharp. May I see all of these, not as little things, but as major signs that my repentance is too partial and incomplete. May I know myself better so that I may come to know You more fully. Have mercy on me! Cleanse me from my secret faults. Cleanse from secrets about myself that I have not been eager to bring to Your light. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, rescue me from myself so that I can be wholly Yours. Amen!
